Fire destroys saw, planning mill and cider press
Glark Oct 4. The saw mill planning mill and cider press owned by John Conkle were totally destroyed by fire. It is believed a spark from the engine started the blaze as they had been making cider. No insurance. Mr and Mrs L Luke and guests spent time with friends in Coshocton and Warsaw. Miss Olive Mizer of Avondale visits J O Myer. Miss Alberta Dougan and Nellie Dougan spent Saturday in Wooster. Oil activity draws many visitors to the village.
Spellacy Raiff enamel plant to rise in Coshocton
Coshocton adopts the Spellacy Raiff enamel company with capital of 25000 dollars. Incorporators include M Spellacy D A Raiff John M Mortis F B Pomerene and L A Smith. Plant to produce enamel ware with 160 workers. Construction to start tomorrow at Third street site. The firm chose Coshocton over Springfield. Prosecutor Glenn Mesers Nicholas Merrell and T A Wheeler visited Cooperdale to investigate the Waghite murder case.
