Barn-Burners Scour Town as Cooperdale Fires Rage

The Assorted fires near Cooperdale and east of town spark a citywide fever as barns belonging to Will C. Dickerson and Martin Wolford burn. Copperdale residents blame an organized arson ring. investigators note three barns torched Sunday with heavy losses of hay, oats, wheat, and equipment. A loyal dog alerted the Wolford family during the blaze.

Town in Panic Over Rabid Mad Dog in Pike Township

West Carlisle residents recount a rabid mad dog attack that spread fear through the county. The animal reportedly bit dogs cows and two children with two hogs suffering severe injuries. The head was sent to Columbus and officials confirmed rabies. Alfred McMillen and sons travel to Chicago for treatment. Continued on Page Five.

Fresno Organizes for Good Roads Township Branch

Fresno on November 27 organized the White Eyes Branch of the Coshocton County Good Roads association. Officers named include President Boyd Secretary R D Keesey and an executive committee of W F Park HM Ewing and Dr Kitsmiller. The group urged skilled supervision of county road work to improve labor efficiency and delegated representatives to the Coshocton county convention on December 2 with power to enlarge the delegation.

Narrow escape after buggy runaway injures Mrs Graham

Mrs. William Graham was hurled from a runaway buggy on South Sixth street Sunday. The horse veered to C. C. Brooke's gate smashing the buggy. Mrs. Graham lay unconscious and required stitches from Dr. McClain before being moved to the Graham residence for care.

Woman Falls Through Back Porch Trap into Cellar

Mrs William Romans of East Main Street sustained a bruised and sprained arm and severe cuts to the left side of her face after stepping from the back porch into an open cellar trap door Saturday night. The fall occurred as dusk settled and she recovered in the kitchen.

Teachers' pay dispute over institute attendance

In Waling Green on Nov 27 the circuit court overruled the common pleas finding on teacher pay during institutes. The board of education passed a resolution to pay teachers while Edward Beverstock, a taxpayer, enjoined it from doing so. The common pleas court held the institute did not excuse dismissal of school.

County C E Convention A Glorious Success

The county Christian Endeavor convention held at West Lafayette elected officers led by President A L Matthews of Shoc ton and Vice President Shaffer Smiths of Coshocton. Delegations from Keene Coshocton Fresno West Carlisle and West Lafayette attended. The meeting heard papers on personal co operation promptness and the value of Christian Endeavor work with Rev C H Hubble of Columbus presenting on The Accommodation Train. The session included a nominating committee and a discussion of county work funding.
