Railroad Salaries See 10 Percent Increase Basis
The ten per cent raise granted by the Pennsylvania and other railroads is calculated on salaries paid January 1, 1902. Some individuals have already received increases since then, so the gross increase may be less than ten per cent. If a prior raise was six per cent the employee receives four per cent more. The Pennsylvania employs 106,000 workers, about 100,000 affected, and 6,000 earn more than 200 dollars a month.
