Four Mill at Roscoe Beginnings and Family Ownership Timeline
The Roscoe mill began with a four mill and Arnold Med berry using the old burr system. In 1862 Barney Demos Co. acquired it, then the Leemoss and Lam berton families took over after Demoss’ death and Barney’s 1887 passing. By 1885 the plant received a major overhaul with eight double roll sets. Water power drives the turbine and canal, and the site employs about eleven people with a capacity of 330 barrels daily. The Lees primarily handle the wheat trade to farmers, aiming to produce the best flour and sustain a busy operation.
