Estimated losses ranged around 550 on the building and 600 on the goods. Authorities suspect tramp arson after denial of lodging. Separately Col George W Bain plans a temperance lecture at Grace M E Church on March 24 on "The Late Side of Life for Young Men" with a post-lecture collection to help cover expenses. the engagement was moved from its earlier date due to Bain’s travel.
