Buffalo March 19 the inquest into Edwin L Burdick's murder was continued to Monday. Police caution against blaming a dead man and note the suspect Pennell may have written a letter saying I feel that I must kill Ed Burdick.
A collision near Washington New Jersey between a passenger train and a freight train on the Delaware Lackawanna and Western railroad killed two engineers Isaac Sutton of Hoboken and T A Covey of Scranton. The freight train on a siding lagged onto the main line as the passenger passed. The passenger engine stayed on track after impact while both locomotives wrecked with crews shaken.
Telegraph report from Pepperel Massachusetts dated March 19 notes a blaze at the Griffin shoe factory and nearby properties burning a score of buildings including businesses and homes. Loss pegged at 300000 dollars with partial insurance.
The Cincinnati Gas and Electric company board approves adding 10 million to existing capital stock, reaching 30 million. The increase will be submitted to stockholders for vote on May 4. New stock will be issued and sold in the open market as needed for improvements and extensions.
