Telegraph reports from Arlington Oregon that Happier Oregon was wiped out by a waterspout last night. It is believed about 350 people are drowned and 105 bodies have already been recovered. The Spokane dispatch notes the disaster as it reaches The Age.

Ewen's dwelling burned amid feudist threats in Kentucky

In Jackson Kentucky Sunday, after threats by feudists, the home of B J Ewen, used as a hotel, was set ablaze. Ewen his wife and nine children plus guests fled with only their clothes. Two men seen fleeing were Joe Crawford and Edward Tharp, arrested and guarded at the military camp. Authorities fear further intimidation as trials proceed for Jett and White over the murder of J B Marcu m. Habeas corpus hearings delayed the case as Sharp and Crawford were held for grand jury action.
