Death announces the passing of John Minor Botts of Virginia on Friday morning the 1st inst He was born September 16 1802 in Dumfries Prince William County Virginia Botts served in the Virginia Legislature 1833 1838 and in Congress 1839 1843 He remained a Union man during the rebellion and attended the Philadelphia Loyalist Convention in 1866 A man of notable intellect and influence his loss is noted.

Doran and two women were taken to jail. Whitfield served on General Dick Taylor’s staff. the case sparks talk of lynching. Other items mention Delmarva’s party debt claims and a Springfield to San Francisco railroad venture with an innovative schedule.
