Vatican circles report Venezuela asked the pope to arbitrate its dispute with the Allies. The Vatican allegedly will not consider the proposal unless it is unanimously supported by all parties.
Washington reports an American named Jones, unaware of the blockade, chartered a sailing vessel from Guant to La Guayra to reach New York. The Bausan cruiser fired on him near Macuta, seized the boat, searched him, and landed him after confiscating his belongings. The State Department plans to address the Caracas cargo dispute with Venezuela.
Washington December 24 Detailed responses of both Great Britain and Germany to the Venezuelan arbitration proposition have been received by the state department. They will not be made public until after the president's response to them has been forwarded.
Margaret M. Bush through attorney J C Adams petitions probate court for divorce from John A Bush and alimony, asks custody of six minor children. They wed in this county in 1881, seven children born, one of age. he deserted September 26, 1895, last heard location Nebraska, no support since. Mrs. Bush lives in Perry Township.
Judge T E Duncan J W Berry of Mt Gilead and Seth C Duncan of Newcomerstown attended a stockholders meeting at the Selby building. The directors decided to relocate the companys headquarters from Coshoc ton to Mt Gilead.
By telegraph from Wheeling, Dec 24. Officer Bowen was killed today while attempting to arrest an unknown Negro. The incident occurred during a law enforcement action with the assailant at large.
The largest fur purchase in Coshocton county history was completed when S W Snyder bought 5500 pounds for Joseph Steiner & Brothers of New York from Coshocton Fur company. The fur mix includes raccoon skunk opossum fox and mink valued near 3500 dollars. Two shipments were sent to New York by Pacific express Tuesday and 1200 pounds followed Wednesday morning. Snyder, a major fur shipper in the region, heads a large express operation.
The mystery of high egg prices is blamed on a hen strike. Lou B Preston of South Lawn Avenue reports killing and dressing seventy five chickens for market, sixty of which were hens, with no eggs found in the lot. He notes it is the first time in his experience that a dozen hens were dressed with no eggs discovered.
Alvino Giavane and Tim Kiser of Meek & Beach issued a beautiful booklet with artistic views about Coshocton and advertising local firms. It is described as a work of art. Wreck near Sidney, Marietta: two Ohio River passenger trains collided today near Sidney, West Virginia. No loss of life reported.
Vienna dispatch reports Archduke Leopold Ferdinand and Crown Princess of Saxony in Geneva plan to earn a living rather than accept further allowances. Rumors say the Crown Princess fled Salzburg December 22 after conflicts over her literary tastes. Paris reports police seized papers of Jeane De la Marre, explorer and Klondike joining company manager, suspected of irregular proceedings.
Police officer Patrick Mahoney was found guilty of burglary and received an indeterminate sentence. He and two burglars blew a safe in a jewelry store in his beat, stealing about $8,000 in cash and jewelry. The trial revealed he also worked on burglars’ tools in his spare time. Also noted is Charles S Wood announcing a horse sale at his Wakatomika barn on January 2 with about forty horses.
In Limoges Hautervienne France on December 24 striking mill workers incited chaos after a fiery address by leader M Noel. Patrols faced stones and sticks as gendarmes were driven back. Disturbers ransacked houses and tried to storm the city hall, with the speaker vowing retribution against capitalists.
Washington December 24 Admiral Schley who has been seriously ill with lumbago for several days sat up today for the first time since his indisposition began. His attending physician Dr Nixon predicts he will be completely restored to health in a few days.
Telegraph dispatch from London reports poet Rudyard Kipling will sail for Cape Town on Saturday. He is to visit South Africa for literary duties and to promote his new works during the voyage.
In Russiaville Indiana this morning Mia Charles Davis and her four year old daughter died in a house fire. The child’s clothing ignited and the mother ran about forty yards to the nearest neighbor with the child in her arms. Both victims suffered severe burns and died soon afterward.
Venezuelan junta reports rebels active as President Castro heads toward Lavictoria with government troops to halt advances. About seven thousand rebels prepare to march on Caracas, armistice ended. General Matos leads revolts and plans to join his forces within days and asserts Castro’s downfall is certain.
Miss Lucy Wright and Charles Wright will spend the Christmas season in Newark, making plans to visit relatives and enjoy holiday gatherings. The couple anticipates mild winter weather and festive events during their stay.
Twenty five labor unions operate in Chicago with an estimated membership surpassing 310000, reflecting broad organized labor presence across the city.

Her condition stems from religious fervor and sanctification excitement, with an earlier episode last May over the sale of the home farm. No violence. she is mentally weakened and sleeps poorly. medical witness was L. C. Mc Curdy of New Moscow. Clifford Beach will spend Christmas at Dennison.
