Narrow cave-in escape for Plainfield man at well site
Ira Brannon of Plainfield narrowly escaped death during a well digging accident on the farm of T. Dvorak near the village. At 30 feet, the hickory casing cracked and a cave-in began as he was placing a tile. Workman Willis Biker and Zach Workman pulled him clear as earth showered down. Brannon was dazed but unharmed and completed the well the next day.

Popcorn shipments from Oregon farm to Columbus mills
Mr. Eli Barkier, tenant on the Williams farm near this place, loaded four shipments to Columbus last Saturday totaling about 17 000 pounds of popcorn grown on the old T. J. Cook estate known as Oregon, recently purchased by C. E. Williams. The cargo went to the Capitol mills owned by J. F. Williams & Sons and will be mixed with Buckwheat and ground to make flour.

Adjudged Insane in Inquest of Lunacy
Joseph McDonald of Pear Bacoe was declared insane by Judge Roch at the inquest in the probate office Tuesday. The 60 year old man had shown derangement for two years, with violent insanity marked by renewal of appearance and incoherent statements. His wife and children live at Bacon and feared him. Dr. A B McCurdy testified. McDonald was moved to the state hospital at noon Tuesday.

Monsters of Rail Crash Near Coshocton Kills Engineer
One of the worst Pan Handle wrecks in years occurred a mile east of Coshocton when a Pan Handle work train and a Walbonday Valley coal train collided head on after a switch error by operator Shaw. One man died and nine were seriously injured, with names including Yong Veo engineer Toledo and several Ohio crewmen. Traffic was delayed about five hours as wrecking trains cleared the scene.

John W Finnell former street commissioner of Coshocton died at home on South Fifth Street after a two week tuberculosis illness. He was 69, born in Jackson township, moved to Coshocton 24 years ago and served two terms as street commissioner starting in 189. He was a mason and longtime member of Grace M B Church, married to Miss Ricketts about 45 years ago, survived by wife and six children including William in Olympia Washington and three others in nearby towns. An interment was held at Oak Ridge cemetery with funeral services by Rev J W Toland.
