R. Fulton Sayer of the Meek & Beach lower plant fell headlong from a step ladder at work last Tuesday. He escaped serious injury but sustained several bruises and will be unable to work for several days. He remains at his Walnut street home.
Coshocton clay is proven to make bricks and a new Coshocton brick company forms. B F Cotter of Newcomerstown brought bricks from the Glover farm east of town to prove the quality. A stockholders meeting was held and the company formation will proceed. Bricks are on par with market leaders and clay supply is unlimited.
J Ogden Armour waded into the Chicago wheat market and netted an estimated $50,000 as he built a large position amid intense floor chaos. He purchased 2,000,000 bushels at 75 cents and traded at least 6,000,000 bushels, holding May and July contracts and amassing as much as 12,000,000 bushels by Friday night.
Clark Township reports a deadlock in the trustee race with candidates R. J. Graham, R, and F. M. Steele, D, each at 103 votes. A disputed additional ballot is under review by the election board. Other results list Treasurer A. J. Vforkman, D, 45 votes and Assessor T. J. Fox, R, 7 votes.

The Home department in West Lafayette held a lot drawing at the town hall Wednesday at 2 pm drawing 71 lots with prizes of $50 won by A L Fouts 90 H F Russell 1 and Peter Shafer 102. Judges IE A Leighinger Joel Redard and Benjamin Stoneburner oversaw the event with Harry Russell as clerk and Baxter Shafer overseeing the process.

Smoke issued from beneath the stage at the new Weller theater around four on Tuesday evening. Firemen found a small blaze under the floor, quickly put out with a hand chemical. The blaze started when electricians left a candle burning under the floor near boards.
Miss Jennie Wilson of Tyler and Maxwell laundry was caught in an ironing machine on Tuesday afternoon. Her hand was pulled into the band ironer and held until the machine stopped. The heat spared severe burns but fingers were badly crushed.
