President Blair of the Little Kanawha railroad has let a contract to build fifty miles of track from Zanesville Ohio to Parkersburg West Virginia. Missing boy found dead on grandfather's farm
After a twelve hour search Hugh Himore was found dead in a fence corner on his grandfather William Gilmore's farm near Wakatomika Thursday at 10 am. The eighteen year old had recently turned eighteen and went hunting ducks Wednesday afternoon. Despite lantern aided searches all night the body was discovered early morning, lying across an unfired gun. He suffered fits since childhood and appears to have smothered after a fall, face pressed to moist earth. Funeral Friday at 2 pm, interment at Broomatick churchyard.

A severe hail storm struck Lacrosee Wisconsin last night damaging green houses and conservatories. Will Jeffries was arrested Wednesday evening by Officer Johnson after resisting authority. he was escorted away. The Coshocton Gun Club will hold its regular monthly shoot Friday afternoon for the Burns Gosser medal, last won by William Felumlee.

Steam Yacht Burns on Canal at Newcomerstown
The steam yacht owned by Harry Warner and Or N Dickinson of Newcomerstown was destroyed by fire after a gasoline stove explosion Thursday. Dickinson suffered severe burns while trying to escape as the craft burned to the water’s edge. The vessel, a luxurious miniature floating home on the Ohio canal, was a total wreck and Warner is related to A L Stevenson of the city.

Anthracite Strike Commission Rules Take Hold In Coal Regions
Telegraph reports Philadelphia April 2 that the anthracite strike commission orders take effect across the coal fields. New conditions begin as mines observe a holiday in southern districts and parades and mass meetings occur in towns. In upper regions some collieries paused, workers report for duty, and hours are adjusted with little friction. Reading district faces friction over implementing three eight hour shifts per commission orders.
