Carver Acquitted in Boone Township Assault Trial

Elias Carver of Boone township was acquitted after a jury trial last week on charges of assault and battery against William McCarty. The fight followed a drunken dispute at a blind tiger and a confrontation at William A. Russell's stable. McCarty struck Carver with a neck yoke. Carver retaliated with a knife. The jury found self defense.
