Washington township pike is finished from New Amsterdam through Valley City to the township line, about five miles, leaving a two mile gap to Heth township road toward Corydon. Efforts may fund the gap by tax or donations. a free route from Corydon to Central Manekport New Amsterdam and Valley City is anticipated. Yost died at her son’s home near New Albany aged 73 and was buried at Lanesville Catholic cemetery. Mathias Yost died in 1990 at the couple’s old Lanesville home. The Yost family and local residents attended the funeral along with relatives from New Albany.
