Big Fair Returns With Strong Attendance and Fine Displays
Attendance reached about 10 000 on Thursday and 8000 on Friday as crowds from New Albany visited. Stock displays improved, especially the horse show, and Horticultural Hall filled with favorable season turnout. Apples led the exhibits, races drew many visitors, and the new bridge over the track paid for itself in year one with smooth crossings and no injuries. Premiums are listed below and will be continued in future issues.

Giant Bud Regan the eight foot giant at Corydon fair
Bud Regan a colored giant eight feet nine inches tall and eleven and a half foot arm span drew large crowds in Corydon after visiting Gallatin Tennessee. The 33 year old man lives with his mother and travels in a cart due to a dislocated hip from rapid growth. He weighs about 170 pounds and plans one more show before returning home. He denounces show managers for deceiving the public with a fake wild man and credits God for his condition.

Rev William Sharp son of Reed Sharp married Miss Lucy Martin on the 21st of last month at the bride’s home in Palmyra with Rev J H Walls officiating. The groom is a U B church minister and the bride a leading county teacher. Groomsman was Trustee Win Hauswald of Corydon and Ora Sharp served as bridesmaid. Lizzie Avery played the wedding march. Relatives and friends attended the reception with decorations by Ola Taylor and Bertie Finley and a supper served. The couple received many valuable presents and warm congratulations from The Democrat.

Reunion of Faith Family in Heth Township 1902
A reunion of Abraham Faith’s children was held August 19 1902 at a son in law’s residence in Heth township. Faith died aged 83 after frontier hardships. Mrs Ginkins Sets High Fair Record With Cakes and Quilts
Mrs. C H Ginkins entered three cakes and two quilts at the fair. She won first premiums on cocoanut and lemon layer cakes, eight dollars each, and four and three dollars for the quilts. Total premiums amount to nine dollars. Five entries yielded four premiums. The cakes are praised as the highest quality ever tasted by the reviewer.

Foot Mashed Off in Freight Yard Accident
James Mitchell a brakeman on the Southern KR. B. was struck by a passing train at English last Thursday and had his left foot severed above the shoe. He received amputation at St Edward's Hospital New Albany and is said to be recovering. He is brother to Lawyer FE Mitchell of this place.

Death of L C Davis in Ramsey Area
L C Davis and L O Davis of Ramsey area died Sunday night from typhoid fever after about a week of illness. Funeral held Tuesday morning at Wood's Chapel. Survived by a wife two young children and an aged mother ill with typhoid fever. A leading M E church member, he was cherished by friends and neighbors as a bright jewel.
