About sixty guests attended including the Williar and Cunningham families with Singing games and music by Riley Moore Denzil Cunningham and Williar Bros. Refreshments followed and Anderson received several nice presents.
The firm of W. D. Barnes and P. A. Burton announces its real estate services in Elizabeth Indiana. They invite owners to entrust farm or property sales for prompt attention and offer assistance to buyers seeking farm or town and city properties. The note also mentions rubber sport goods manufacturing by the United States and Great Britain.
Mrs Blaine Hays and three children plus Miss Lucy Thornbury travel to Haines City Florida to spend winter. Samuel Pfrimmer joins for about three weeks. the Hays party previously drove in a Chevrolet and others plan join later. Pfrimmer is bank cashier. Hays a lawyer. Bus schedules list Corydon to New Albany departures.
Mr. and Mrs. Harry Trotter of Valley City return home after a year away with a three month Northwest trip ending in Winnipeg. They spent winter in Florida and Chicago was a long stop where Mrs. Trotter has three brothers. A surprise luncheon at their home welcomed them back with many relatives and friends in attendance.
Farm news notes exchange of wheat for Carnation flour at New Middletown Milline Company. Local items report Jacob W. Hottell visiting family near Corydon with ties to Los Angeles. Mentions of William H. Griffins in Boone township and farm equipment and tobacco in the area.
The Burley Tobacco Growers Cooperative Association wins an injunction and restraining orders against Cleve Heath and Barley Holsclaw in Madison Indiana. Heath is barred from selling tobacco to anyone but the Association, marking Indiana’s first pool contract restraint. More than fifty-five suits for liquidated damages were called as the Association seeks answers within three days. Carmel Hallmeyer led the petition with P. E. Bear and Abe D. Waldauer assisting.
Mr J H Glasscock of Posey township visited the office and shared tobacco market material citing court decisions that tenants may sell shares of crop to independent buyers if not in the Cooperative Association. The writer notes sympathy for the Pool but urges clear information from both sides. A pie and box supper is planned at No 10 in Harrison township next Friday night October 12. Julia Miller, Teacher.

Andrew C Keller of this place visited the office last Monday to report near full recovery after more than three weeks of treatment by Dr Clara Habermel for cancer. He credits her with the improvement and notes one cancer has troubled him for twenty years.
