Home Mission Week A Joint Effort for United Church Action
Home Mission Week mobilizes all denominations to promote home missions across the country. Led by the Home Mission Council and The Council of Women for Home Missions, the eight day effort runs November 17 to 24, 1912, using literature, church programs, and union meetings to tackle immigrant, race, and other issues.

Death of an Old Citizen James De Moss
James De Moss former county resident died November 1 at Guthrie Oklahoma in his eighty ninth year He was born September 8 1823 and married Elizabeth Dodson April 20 1848 He is survived by seven children eleven grandchildren and eight great grandchildren plus one infant daughter who died in infancy Funeral services were held in Guthrie November 3 Burial followed in the local cemetery De Moss lived in this county forty one years before moving to Guthrie in 1890 He was born in Iowa moved to Kentucky at age ten then to this county and became a respected figure in local history

Aunt Jane Farnsley Dies in Floyd County at 89
Aunt Jane Farnsley age nearly 90 died at the home of her son James M. Farnsley in Floyd county near Locust Point last Monday at eleven o clock. Funeral at Union church Posey township today at two led by Rev Mervey United Brethren pastor of New Middletown. Survived by two sons James M. and Thomas R Farnsley and three daughters Mrs Caesar Coffman of Floyd county Mrs John Villier of Louisville and Mrs Harry Lemmon of Kansas City. She joined the United Brethren church about forty years ago and lived a devoted Christian life.
