A united church gathering at Corydon Public School auditorium raised funds for the Salvation Army Indiana campaign. Rev J G Moore chaired. Rev J H Toombs led prayers. Rev Chas A Reagan spoke. Rev Lucien W Bute and Captain Sulworth voiced support. Offerings totaled 196 dollars with pledges of 123 dollars. county total expected near 300 dollars. Music by local church choir and a trio performance complemented the event. Mrs Geo C Doolittle accompanied on piano.

Death of Ruth Motley Child in Corydon Area
Ruth Gladys Motley died Friday due to whooping cough after a week of illness. She was four miles south of Corydon, one of twelve children with seven brothers and four sisters surviving. Funeral services were held Saturday at 4 PM by Rev. J G Moore, burial at Shiloh Cemetery. the Miler family had moved from Claypool Kentucky about a year ago.

Aviator Ernest Mason Severely Injured in Plane Crash near New Albany
Ernest J. Mason of New Albany was badly injured when his aircraft crashed near his station north east of the city last Saturday morning. The machine collapsed to splinters after a hard nose-first descent about 200 feet from the ground. Mason's right jawbone was fractured and his face cut. he was taken to St Edwards Hospital for treatment by Drs. Davis Briscoe and Wolfe. Doctors express hope for recovery if no internal injuries are found. Mason was known locally and had visited nearby towns several times.

Man Arrested For Window Invasion Then Released

Daniel Marshall and Joseph Smith detained the intruder, Sheriff Isaac Orwick jailed him as Ben Blair of Louisville, a 22 year old former soldier. St Peter Congregation Outing At Mauckport
St Peter congregation of Franklin township with friends about 175 members drove to Mauckport in 30 cars for a day of fishing and feasting. They caught 150 pounds of fish, women fried it, and all enjoyed a feast on Mauckport public school grounds. Local pastor Rev C. J. Wachter and William Gloitz and William Voelker were noted as avid fish eaters. Dr Teaford of Lanesville joined with his pill bag for emergencies. Boat rides on the Ohio were enjoyed by nearly all.

A group from Corydon visited Wyandotte Cave last Saturday night. A single man about fifty was found dead floating in the river near Mauckport. The coroner held an inquest and witnesses suggested robbery before the body was dumped. No identification was found, but some alleged the man may have come from Louisville.
