The funeral of Dr Leander Armistead Riely was held from the Presbyterian church after his sudden death from heart failure on the lith inst. The service featured a sermon by Rev Dr Stern and was well attended. Born in 1830 in Kentucky he lived in Orleans Ind New Albany Corydon and Corydon areas, married twice and had several children. Relatives from Bloomfield Linton Indianapolis New Albany Jeffersonville and other places attended the funeral.

Mrs. Mary A. Apple, born November 2, 1802 in North Carolina, died near Paoli on the 21st. Daughter of Alexander Fulton, her family settled in Orange County when it was a wilderness. She was ninety nine years, three months and nineteen days old.
Mrs Mary Lopp widow of John Lopp died suddenly yesterday at one o'clock after a week of injuries and heart complications. She was 73, survived by her husband and daughter Mrs Roy Graves, with siblings Joseph Henry Denbo and Judge G W Denbo. A Christian, she will be buried at Cedar Hill after the funeral tomorrow.

Mrs Amelia Kintner stood before Justice Hunter in Harrison township last Friday and Saturday as about 75 witnesses testified in the barn fire case from February 14 at Anthony Windell's property. Prosecutors C L Fleshman and Luckett led the state while Major W Funk defended the defendant. The jury returned a verdict of acquittal.

C F W Neely W H Reeves and Estes G Rathbone were sentenced by the Audiencia Court of Havana to ten years imprisonment for embezzling Cuban postal funds. Each received a heavy fine. Neely paid 56701 dollars Reeves 35516 and Rathbone 35324.

David Smith near Lanesville died Saturday from injuries from a falling limb sustained weeks earlier. He was about years old and buried Monday at the town burying ground.
