Body Of Painter Found In River

William Davis Dillon a Lawrence Kansas painter who fell from the Matthew Welsh Bridge December 5 was recovered from the Ohio River Sunday March 5. Meade County Sheriff Joe Jones said Indiana authorities retrieved the body about 15 miles below the bridge after it was spotted by a tow boat and reported to the Coast Guard. The body rests at Newkirk Funeral Home Milltown Indiana.

Indiana Assembly Approves Southern Indiana Poultry Lab

The Indiana General Assembly approved a bill to establish a poultry disease diagnostic laboratory in Southern Indiana. The Old Capitol Saddle Club will elect its 1967 Saddle Club Queen Saturday night March 11 after the Annual Membership Chili Supper at Harrison Grange Hall. Entrants must be 16 to 21, never married, and a 1967 club member. Contestants wear street clothes. The winner represents the club in 1967 activities.
