George R Sherman Dies in Mauckport After Illness

George R Sherman aged 69 of Mauckport died Sunday morning February 24 after a brief pneumonia illness. Funeral held February 26 at the Odd Fellows hall Mauckport with Rev Tullis officiating and burial in Mauckport cemetery. He leaves four sons and one daughter four brothers two sisters and several grandchildren. He was a charter member of Mauckport Lodge No 443 I O O F.

Hausz Seeks Democratic Nomination for Franklin Assessor

The Democrat announces Geo J Hausz as a candidate for the Democratic nomination for Assessor of Franklin township. Hausz, born and raised there, has served three years as assessor and seeks renomination. Death of David Comer from Boone Township

David Comer, 74, a Civil War veteran from Boone township, died Saturday February 23 at 2 30 pm after a pneumonia illness lasting about a week. He leaves five sons Harry Benton county Ind Robert Boone township Walter Waco Neb William Mt Carmel L and George Nebraska. Funeral held at Rogers Camp Ground Tuesday February 26 conducted by Rev Edwards. His wife died about a year ago and one son preceded him in death.
