Death of Lanesville Pioneer John Zabel Longtime Mill Owner
John Zabel died at his home in Lanesville after a brief illness. Funeral services were held at St. John's Evangelical church with Rev. Otto Schumm officiating. He led the Lanesville Plouring Mill from 1865 to 1905 and left a large family including seven children, thirty seven grandchildren, and ten great grandchildren. He was eighty one and a half years old, married over sixty four years, and a devout Evangelical Lutheran.

Death of Former Resident Isaac Machery in Los Angeles
Isaac Machery a former resident of the county died at his Los Angeles home on Sunday June 19 after a lengthy illness. He was 59 years 7 months and 5 days old and survived by his wife a son and a sister Mrs Anna Troncin of Madisor. Born November 14 1861 in Bloomington Indiana he moved to Louisville at 21 and then to Kansas in 1905 before relocating to Los Angeles. He was twice married first to Fanny Mathey who died in 1893 and in 1900 to Mary LaHue who survives. His body was shipped to Hurstown and services were held at Wood's Chapel with Rev J G Moore, burial in Wood's Chapel cemetery.

Road bond hearing draws crowd before tax board

Pfrimmer Family from Denver Makes Nine Day Auto Trip
Mrs Eleanor Pfrimmer aged 84 and three daughters Misses Kittie Hattie Edmona arrived in the county after a nine day journey from Denver Colorado. They are staying with Mrs Marion Faith of Kings Cave and plan to visit Pennsylvania before returning home. The family has lived in Denver about fifteen years and two daughters are teachers. They used an automobile and camped at nights during the trip. This is their third car trip here, the previous one being two years ago.
