The Bulleit families of Corydon and friends gathered near the club house on Big Indian last Thursday for hunting boating and games. Forty four people including Joseph W H A L A F and V J Bulleit Dr Wolfe Sam Wolfe Frank Dropsy G K Gwartney and H S Upton attended. They traveled by Shuck’s excursion wagon and smaller vehicles. The feast featured chicken cake pie ice cream lemonade and other dishes as the editors notes the day was a memorable pleasure.

Fire feeds loss for Morgan township farmer
Frank A. Fessel, a prosperous Morgan township farmer, lost his dwelling and smoke house with contents last Friday. He was away at a neighbor’s. his wife, sick with a baby, narrowly escaped. Neighbors saved the remaining buildings. Loss about 1500 dollars, with 400 dollars insured in Harrison County Mutual. The blaze started from a bad flue. He urges insurance to cover property worth. He deserves communal sympathy for the blow.

Murder in New Albany Knobs Leaves Young Man Dead
John Casteau of New Albany was shot and killed by Joseph Turner near Turner's home about four miles from New Albany. The body was found the next morning about 150 yards from Turner's house after an apparent altercation involving Casteau, who was reportedly intoxicated, and Turner's wife calling for help.
