Corydon High School girls defeated Louisville High School girls in a tense overtime clash at St. X gym. The Board of Commissioners reappoints Dr William Daniel physician for the Poor Asylum for another year and confirms his four year term as County Health Officer. Daniel has served thirty three years as health officer and forty eight in medical practice, since graduating in 1875 in Louisville, and has resided here thirty six years. He remains tireless in serving the community with day and night calls.

Aged Man Dies in Poverty After Long Illness
Ezra Koeninger died at his Taylor township home after a brief illness on January 4. A Union veteran drawing a seventy two dollar monthly pension, he and his wife and nineteen year old son lived in a 16 by 18 foot log room with severe poverty, no coffin or clothing, a chained dog, and a delayed burial the next day in Strong burial grounds.

Funeral of Mrs Allen in Corydon
The service for Nancy Jane Marshall Allen was held at the home of her daughter in Corydon with Rev. J. G. Moore and John H. Heth officiating. A quartet provided music and pallbearers included Charles Keller, Joseph Keller, and Frank Watson. Burial followed at Cedar Hill cemetery. She was born November 19, 1843 in Hardin County Kentucky and died January 2, 1928 at age 79, survived by four daughters and other relatives. She was interred with her husband, Joseph B. Allen, who died about 28 years earlier. She joined the Sonora Baptist Church as a youth and remained active in local church work and temperance groups.
