Elmer P. Brown son of Mr and Mrs Jesse Brown of Boone township died at Degreeness Hospital Louisville after four weeks illness of appendicitis and complications. He was 22 years 5 months and 20 days old. Funeral at Oak Grove church with Rev. C Youngblood. Burial in church cemetery. Survived by parents one brother Herbert and two sisters Mrs Harold Yeager and Miss Mary Brown. Herbert returned from Akron to attend.

William Henry Davidson died at his home on North Market Street last Friday morning after a prolonged illness, likely cancer. Large House Burns Overlooked Corydon Home
A two story frame residence belonging to Geo DeVol two and a half miles northwest of Corydon burned last Sunday night. Fire likely started from a defective kitchen flue and spread rapidly destroying the building before neighbors could assist. Mr and Mrs DeVol were alone in the house and could not call for help due to a cut telephone line. The blaze occurred about eleven o'clock and the property was partially insured by Hathermel and Jules Agency with a severe loss to the owners.
