Southern Railway to Quote British Freight Rates
Exporters and importers in Louisville can obtain quotations for British freight rates through the Southern Railway System. The service, arranged with International Mercantile Marine Lines, will cover rail rates between British ports and interior points and through rates from Hampton Roads to New Orleans and interior British points, with connections to London, Liverpool, Manchester, Bristol, Antwerp and Hamburg. The British railways do not publish tariffs, so the Southern will obtain rates for shippers.
