Sixty Fourth County Fair closes after weather dampens crowd
The Sixty Fourth Harrison County Fair wrapped up despite Thursday’s heavy rain and Friday clouds that reduced attendance. Exhibits included horses Jersey cattle poultry grain vegetables and fruit with notable entries from Noah Adamson Clarence Kopp and the Hubbard couple among many others. A full premiums list will be published later as fair officials supplied copies.

Infant's body found in Ohio River near spillway
Scott Paris located a nude male infant's corpse floating in the Ohio River last Sunday. County Coroner W S Nye said the newborn appeared well developed and bound with a white fabric around the neck and a weight tied to sink it. The coroner continues the investigation and burial was prepared on the river bank by Paris and Nye.

Mrs Robertson Dies Sudden In Louisville Home
Mrs Alice Robertson died suddenly last Friday evening at six o'clock at the home of her daughter and son in law Homer Reid in Louisville. She was 54 and perished after a short illness described as apoplexy or paralysis. The funeral was held Sunday afternoon. She had visited Corydon where she had many friends and was regarded as a fine woman. Her son in law Homer Reid is a nephew of the Keller brothers and Mrs Lew M OBan non and Miss Rose Keller of this place.

John Lemmel Dies on Elizabeth Street
John Adam Lemmel aged 70 died suddenly on a Tuesday afternoon in Elizabeth after a period of ill health. Born September 1 1852 in Lanesville Indiana he married Rebecca Ann Butler in 1874 and had twelve children. Burial followed at Rose Hill cemetery after services at Elizabeth M E Church.

A large crowd gathered in Corydon for a memorial service honoring President Warren G. Harding on Friday afternoon August 10 following his funeral in Marion. The program included hymns readings and an address by Judge T J Wilson with music by a local Boy Scout Band and piano accompaniment by Mrs. Geo Doolittle.

Home Coming at Hall Farm Honors Family Gathering
About 150 people attended the Hall farm homecoming on Sunday August 19 with members of the Hall family from Evansville Indiana Topeka Kansas Corydon Junction Terre Haute and Clermont Florida among others. A noon meal was shared and photographs were taken of the home and attendees. Edward Baxter of Clermont Florida gave an anniversary talk and all looked forward to future gatherings.
