The Harrison County Teachers Institute met at the Christian church last Monday with Superintendent Jenkins chairing. Fred Bierly elected Secretary and Miss Ambrosia Hurst enrolling clerk. About 175 teachers enrolled day one, expected 200 by close. Instructors include G W Dunlavy Danville, A Ek Martin, C H Venner. Dunlavy covers history, Venner music. Martin lectures on topics. Martin spoke last night. Dunlavy to lecture Thursday evening.

Death of Isaac Bowman at 76 near town
Isaac Bowman aged 76 living two miles northeast of town died Monday from hemorrhage of the bowels after a brief illness. He leaves five children and many relatives and friends. Last Sunday the 13th Mrs Edith Hess and her child and Miss Arminda Noe suffered a buggy accident in Taylor township when a harness strap broke on a steep hill causing the vehicle to overturn into a ditch. Mrs Hess sustained a broken ankle as Dr Dean of Elizabeth treated the fracture.
