Judge Robert J Tracewell Dies in Evansville
Former U S Treasury Comptroller and Corydon native Judge Robert J Tracewell died at Evansville last Friday July 28 after a lengthy illness. Born May 7 1801 he practiced law with his father before serving in Congress then as Comptroller for 17 years. He later became a judge in Wan terburg County and was married to Grace Bean with three sons and two daughters surviving.

County Rural Carriers Meet at Corydon Form Local Association
County rural carriers gathered in Corydon to form a county association. William Fleace was elected president with Reuben Glenn as vice president and Lawrence Smith as secretary treasurer. The group planned a meeting for August 5 at 4 30 p m and urged all carriers to attend with problems and substitutes, inviting postmasters and patrons. Clarence A Smith served as secretary treasurer. The stockholders of the defunct Corydon National Bank met Friday night at eight o'clock by order of Receiver W. I. Flora. The meeting elected Thetis S. Jones chairwoman and Maurice Griffin secretary to consider sale of assets to Old Capital Bank & Trust Co. and to obtain stockholder expressions on paying 100 percent stock assessment. Only four of twenty four voting stockholders supported sale. most sought more information, and several left before expressing their view.

Harrison county officials adopted memorial resolutions for Judge Christopher Wayne Cook born April 1 1854 in Russell County Kentucky died July 24 1922 A noted lawyer and judge he served as Prosecuting Attorney from 1890 to 1894 and as Judge from 1897 He was praised for integrity fairness and steadfast service in Harrison Crawford counties The meeting appointed a committee to draft further resolutions and sessions were planned for September to discuss Cook Tracewell and John W Ewing

Mary Boone Dies at 67 in Boone Township
Mrs. Mary Boone died Wednesday July 26 at her Boone township home in her sixty seventh year. She was wife of Samuel Boone and survived by two daughters Mrs Carrie Raver of Louisville and Mrs Alonzo Town of Boone township and a son Edward of Harrison township. Also three sisters Miss Lattie Holliday Miss Dode Holliday and Mrs Emma Roby and three brothers June Wright and Thomas Holliday. Funeral at 1 30 Friday at home conducted by Rev Parks with burial at Goshen Cemetery. She was a Presbyterian and civic minded.
