Mrs. Elsie Richert Walker died in Franklin township after a ten day scarlet fever illness. She leaves a husband, six children, and three brothers with a large bereaved family. Funeral at Ft Peter Lutheran Church was led by Pastor Trevch Waehter, burial in the church cemetery. The family received thanks to nurses Mrs. Frank Wolfe and Miss Dora Rochert. Sallie Christley Dies After Long Illness at Corydon
Miss Sallie Christley aged 73 6 was found dead at the home of her niece Mrs Teonard C Weller after a long illness. She lived with the Keller family on Oak street and was buried in Cedar Hill cemetery. The service was at the Keller home conducted by John E Heth with a quartet led by T J Judson and Margaret Judson. Pallbearers included Keller family members and local men. She never married and was a member of the United Brethren church.

Corydon Revival Ends With 28 New Members
The three week revival at the Corydon M E church led by Rev J G Movore and assisted by Rev Jesse L Breeden and Horace J Kurtz drew about seventy new believers or transfers, with twenty eight confessing Christ Sunday night. The meeting featured strong music from Kurtz and a large children’s choir, and encouraged public confession of faith. About $450 was raised to cover expenses including Kurtz’s pay.

On April 10 1914 the Gleitz brothers Charles and John held a joint birthday gathering at Johns home northeast of town with over sixty attendees. Relatives from the Gleitz and Zabel families plus friends from Corydon and Louisville attended including Mrs Christina Gleitz Amiel Hierman Elmer Hermen and Ethel Davis. William Kirkham, aged 79, of Posey Township, died at his home after a long illness following a fall on February 11. He suffered a broken right femur and never fully recovered before his death on Thursday afternoon. Edward H. Godford died at his home 1108 East Market Street New Albany at 1130 Tuesday night April 12. Funeral services were held at his residence and he was buried in Rose Hill Elizabeth. The body of Roscoe Bennett killed in action September 29, 1918, was returned to Taylor township and laid to final rest at Glenwood church cemetery. Harrison Post 123 American Legion members attended, firing three rounds and taps, with Rev P L Holden conducting a service. The Feb. morning funeral drew about 500 locals as Bennett, son of Mr. and Mrs. John S. Bennett, served in Co L 120 Inf 30th Division AEF.

New Middletown students staged The Country Doctor at Modern Woodmen Halls drawing a crowd from Corydon and distant towns.
