A Floyd county farm near New Albany sold for 1400 to William Stewart of Harrison county. Once owned by Joshua Wilson a wealthy local figure who built a grand mansion in 1817, the property featured fine Philadelphia woodwork and a costly horse. Wilson, described as a mulatto, reportedly wealthiest in Indiana, lived in the palace until it changed hands years later.
