Five Democrats Seek Re nomination for county offices

The Democrat announces five incumbents seeking renomination: J P D Pitman Treasurer Peter S Wright Sheriff Philip Herter and Frank Cunningham County Commissioners and Wm S Nye Coroner. Pitman is serving his first term since Jan 1 1912 and is praised for diligent work and safe county funds. Wright has run since 1910 and is noted for ensuring strong office management. Herter and Cunningham are renominating for the Board with a record of handling tough issues alongside R F Davis and T J Stevens. Nye seeks a second term as Coroner after being elected in 1910, with the party backing him. Nye faces opponent W Ie Conner of Elizabeth, while the others have no opposition.

Greenbrier school No 2 closed on Saturday March 23 after a splendid term teacher Miss Blanche Davidson led a joyous program. Hon Philip Zoercher of Tell City Perry county is the Democratic nominee for Reporter of the Supreme Court in Indiana. He is a lawyer and German, praised for his qualifications and support from county delegates. The four year office currently held by Hon George W Self pays $5000 yearly.
