Mr and Mrs Stephen Burlingame honored at a belated 25th wedding anniversary party in the Columbus Community Building hosted by their children. Attendees included relatives and friends from Myrtle Beach and Valdosta. The event featured a blue white and silver theme and a four tier cake by Mrs Donald Krasa.
The Corry BPW Club met in the Colonial Room at the Moose Lodge for the season opening. District 1 director Rose Nardo gave her official visit, shared messages from state and district, outlined plans, and received a club gift.
The Columbus Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary met at the firehall in Columbus to organize a card party at the Moose Lodge on November 12. Mrs. George Savka is general chairman with Mrs. John Volk as cochairman, joined by Mrs. Thomas Messinger as prize committee chair and Mrs. John Stockton leading publicity. A work bee followed, preparing items for the event, and the group will meet again Monday at 7 30 at the firehall to recruit more volunteers.
A surprise stork shower for Ronald and Karen Burrows was held at the home of George and Pat Hopkins in Columbus. Guests included Lucian Lindholm, Louis Ball, Walter Burrows, Ray Burrows, and other family members who shared gifts and cards as Ronnie and Karen were crowned mama and papa of the night.
Fifth and sixth graders at Wright School announce winners in a poster contest. Winners include Steve Pilz Ben Calderone Paula Christensen Donna Johnson Janet Sager and Carol Waseak. PTA sponsors the social with Lauren Shreve as chairman. tickets on sale via Hedy Johnston.
Corry Friends of the Library will meet Monday at 7 30 PM at the Corry Public Library. Election of officers and a forthcoming October 12 and 18 membership drive are planned. Guests included Mrs. Gilbert Rowland and Mrs. Helen Saxton. The Sophomore Tri-Hi-Y Club sponsors a bottle drive tomorrow from 9 AM to noon. A St Teresa Church dinner on October 14 offers hawpki and doors open 11 30 AM with prices 2 adults 1 child and 7 max per family.
Troop 650 with Junior and Brownie units joined by Troops 419 and 494 marched in the Key Pilgrims Proclamation parade. Plans include a wiener roast Halloween party hayride skating party and a swim party plus a project making stuffed toys for underprivileged Indian children. STOCK EXCHANGE PHILADELPHIA The PEW Stock Exchange seeks a third Miami trading floor and will file with the SEC after board approval.
