A report from Mukden, capital of Manchuria, states officials and ending officers telegraphed to Gen Shing Ai-Shek and Chang Hsueh-Liang announcing the plan to form an independent government. A head-on collision on the Union City Waterford road near Roosevelt Inn left two people injured. Ignasiak admitted handling the revolver, saying he was playing sheriff and twirled the gun when it exploded. The Corry class center of the Pennsylvania State College will begin its fourth session at the Junior high school October 12, Monday evening at 7 o'clock. Courses offered include arithmetic, algebra, mechanical drawing, blueprint reading, elementary and advanced accounting, an elementary electricity course for men, economics and public speaking. Registration will be on September 28, 29 and 30 from 7 to 9:20 PM at the second door of the Associated Gas and Electric System building, with a college representative to answer questions about courses and college activities.
Sept 28 The League of Nations said it had reached a limited armament truce under current conditions. The plan calls for no increases in armaments for one year starting November 1, with the disarmament commission urging the League Assembly to request states to refrain from adding arms. Judge O Clare Kent to hand down sentences this afternoon in Crawford county arson case involving Henry Cornell Thomas Schock and Louis Kaufman. Cornell and Schock pled nolo contendere while Keutman was convicted after about twenty hours of jury deliberation. Frank L Girardoty an insurance adjuster arrested in connection with the plot was released for insufficient evidence. Kaufman, an Erie realty agent, is among the accused for burning insured farm properties.
Roosevelt Field L. I. reports five killed in two crashes. Edward Deihle age 20 and Charles Limastrom 21 died when their stalled plane fell between the airport and Mitchell Field from 200 feet.
