A Spartansburg boy and a Corry woman were injured in separate accidents within 24 hours. Mrs J D Murray of Mott Street suffered a fractured right ankle at home and is expected to be sidelined for weeks after a fall on a cellar step. Ray Ehrhart, 14, was rushed to Corry Hospital after a shop buzz saw incident. his right hand index finger was severed but he could go home today.
At a convention aboard an excursion barge on the Allegheny river, delegates from the upper Allegheny Kishiminetas and Conemaugh associations discussed improving river links from Pittsburgh to the New York line. Nathan L. Stover, re elected president, noted a survey of the upper Allegheny supports river improvements. S Ramage urged the French Creek canal route for a Pittsburgh to Lake Erie waterway, claiming ten more locks and dams would extend navigation to Oil City.

In Erie Pennsylvania two youths were convicted of second degree murder for a fatal shootout during a holdup at a gas station. Alot Sehliger, age 2, was sentenced to 10 to 20 years while accomplice Richard Hing drew 8 to 16 years.
New timetable takes effect Sunday September 27 reflecting numerous adjustments to Erie and Pennsylvania Railroad departures.
