Erie County Relief Payments Dip Week Of 1943
Relief payments to Erie County residents for the week ending Wednesday fell to 1208. The decline, 12 dollars from the prior week, reflected reduced aid to needy locals. Police checked a prowler report at the Wallace Garage but found no trace. Local demonstrations on limber estimating were announced for Wattsburg and Corry. Realty transfers included Ray Dearle to National Bank of Union City and Lucy B. Obert to Allen J. Obert. Domestic quarrel calls led police to intervene and threaten arrests.

Flow Of Beef To Market Reaches Record Peak
Hogs and cattle move to market in higher volume than August and early September, but this does not guarantee larger civilian meat rations. Western cattle diverted to midwestern feeders for further fattening reduce the chance of larger meat supplies, with hog slaughter expected to be very heavy this fall as 1943 spring pig stops begin.
