Oil City Mayor Joseph W Barr Jr a member of the Governor s Traffic Safety Committee had his driver s license suspended for one month for speeding 58 in a 40 zone in Pine Township Allegheny County. He paid a 15 fine and costs at a May 31 hearing before Magistrate James A Cole. The suspension took effect September 10.

A Continental Trailways bus carrying 43 collided with a War-wheeler truck on the toll road two miles east of Hudson. Both vehicles left the road and rolled into an embankment. Woman Killed as Car Train Collision Claims Two
Miss McDonald aged 2 from McKeesport was killed when a Balliol & Ohio freight train struck her car while her mother Cyrile McDonald 37, of McKeesport, was seriously injured attempting to move the vehicle off the Baltimore and Ohio tracks. Engineer said he could not stop the train. In Lebanon, Leonard Savage 60 was electrocuted repairing an electronic ceiling unit at Eugene Specialty Print after tapping a safety switch.
