Bailey and two other Titusville residents Lori Harrison and Nadine Harrison were hospitalized in satisfactory condition. Gambino 36 of Corry drove his car into the Bailey vehicle after entering the intersection from LA 2008 where a stop sign exists. Gambino was treated at Corry Memorial Hospital and released. No charges filed yet as investigators continue.
A powerful storm sweeping across Lake Erie caused flash floods across Chautauqua County and beyond. Fredonia Mayor Charles St. George declared a state of emergency as Canadaway Creek overflowed, flooding yards and streets, with roads washed out in Clymer and French Creek and water seen in Buffalo basements and streets.
The murder trial of W A Boyle, former United Mine Workers president, was postponed to Friday as Boyle, 76, is hospitalized with heart disease and other ailments after being carried on a stretcher from the Delaware County courthouse to Crozer Chester Medical Center. Court coroner Dr Larry Redin says Boyle was treated after reporting illness and was sent for observation. Special prosecutor Richard Sprague declined comment.
