Meadville reports freshman activities started with registration and psychology testing. About 76 freshmen were enrolled in the morning as Dr Arthur P Coleman discussed opportunities with students and faculty during a session for freshmen and faculty members.
Federal court continued the case of a Meadvillie Catholic priest Rev James McNary in an auto wreck on August 20 1947. The priest testified about injuries from the collision sparking a string of related notices and local updates from Erie to Titusville and DuBois.

Meadville: David McMahon, 20, former Meadville High football star and Allegheny College term candidate, ordered to Pittsburgh for a medical exam. another local reserve, Robert Sharp, ordered to report for training.
