20 Counties May Ban Doe Season

Harrisburg reports that in 20 counties efforts are under way to end Pennsylvania's two day doe season set for November 27 and 28. Signatures of 51 percent of hunters and farmers are required in each county to abolish the special season and petitions circulate in Adams Bedford Blairt Center Clearfield Clinton Dauphin, Huntingdon, Tioga and Westmoreland. The two day winterless season was introduced after farmers complained deer overpopulation harmed crops. Petitions must reach the commission by October 28 to count.
