Report describes a bird storm affecting acres in the B-015 area near New York, with 74 workers or residents impacted and relocated from several sites. Authorities assess damage and monitor ongoing effects.
A freak storm branded by the Weather Bureau hit Erie Findley Lake and Jamestown early this morning. Winds near 84 to 100 mph uprooted trees damaged power lines and blew out store windows. Waves at Findley Lake reached about 10 feet as boats were torn from moorings and a Corry boat sank. Continuous coverage continued on Page Three.
U S Air Force planes arrived in Tehran carrying 606 evacuees mostly women and children from Lahore Pakistan. Ambassador Mayer and officials welcomed them as they join 404 American families in Tehran. A committee of doctors and nurses prepared care for pregnant mothers and children.

In western and southern Japan two approaching typhoons caused deadly floods and mudslides. Reports say 18 people killed 37 injured and 4 listed as missing as more than 43,000 homes flooded nationwide with central western Honshu hardest hit.
