A crew cut youth driving a red sedan is sought by Corry State Police for questioning about a crash north of Spartansburg on Route 0 at 8 last night. A 58 year old woman, Sophie Gerzina, reported initial damage of about 50 dollars after being rear ended in heavy traffic near the Sparta Fair. Police urge anyone who knows the youth to contact the state police substation. officers will also question him about his version.
Elwyn Pa AP Arthur Linvill 72 was held on a murder charge after shooting a neighbor he said beat stealing from his cornfield. Victim Donald Keener 35 of Middletown Township Delaware County. Linvill said he went to investigate a noise and fired to scare intruders after corn thefts over the past three Fridays.
Windsor Ontario district attorney reports a truck driver Phillip Quinnivan, 32, confessed a sudden urge to kill Mrs Iva Munson at her farm near Windsor. He is charged with first degree murder and held for arraignment. Munson’s body was found slain in her kitchen. A second woman, Clara Blair, 46, who had been seen with Quinnivan, is missing from Earlville. Police traced Quinnivan’s abandoned car near Milo son home. he claimed to have been drifting since the crime. He had worked for a trucking firm under Post Office Department contract and has no permanent address.
Police report a 19 year old driver Donald Higby fled from Loblaw parking lot onto West South street, squealing tires before colliding with Elizabeth Rogers on Spring street. No injuries, Higby cited for reckless driving. vehicle damage about $40. Alderman Potter Auer involved.
Mrs. Robert Bemis of 543 Scioty Sirest reports her husband and Russell Bemis, both missing since August 10 after leaving for Union City to trade cars. Russell's wife and neighbors fear foul play as a 1963 green Buick is involved and descriptions of Wes Bemis, 36, blond with blue eyes, have surfaced. Authorities consider warrants and aid requests.

In Easton Pennsylvania a father and his eight year old son died from fumes in a silo. The father tried to rescue the boy after the ladder collapsed. Raymond Scott, 45, and his son were found in the silo with the top seven feet filled with corn. The mother and another child were present when help arrived for the fatal incident.
