Two Injured In South and West Street Collision

Two people were injured in a crash at the South and West Streets intersection about 1 46 this morning. Ben Christopher, 28, of 1250 West Main street, was driving a roadster and was knocked unconscious before being taken to Corry hospital. Archie Briggs of Model Dairy Company, in a Chevrolet sedan, had a hand cut and was shaken but not seriously hurt.

Beven Killed Nine Dying in Philadelphia Blast

Nine mor victims of the Atlantic Refinery explosion hover between life and death in Philadelphia hospitals. Seven workers died from burns. all 17 men on site were burned. Officials say only one man has any chance of recovery. no bodies found in the ruins.

Granger and Simmons Plead Guilty to Motor Code Violation

John Granger and Merle Simmons of Corry R D 6 pleaded guilty in county court to operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated after a Saturday night chase by police. Both are held on $309 bail for next term grand jury appearance.

A severe evening storm struck Elgin causing power outages in two homes as lightning blew fuses. One child was dazed and burned on the back but recovered. others were frightened by the close call and a prior storm had left the girl shaken. Youth killed in Sharon bombing mystery in Mercer county

Frank Nadae, 21 from Youngstown, was found dead under debris after a blast that destroyed Ennio Flacco’s Sharon home. The fourth bombing in Mercer county since August 10 injures no one else. two adjacent houses damaged as flames followed the explosion. Police investigate while families insist Nadae was not present. Glider Club President Killed in St Louis Crash

William P. Patterney, 28, president of the St Towle Glider Club, died when a glider fell 90 feet at takeoff in St Louis. Officials blame an unbalanced craft and stage wind as it was towed by a car.
