Fred C Hoenes longtime resident and former businessman in this city died last evening at his home on Center street. He was 87. Hoenes operated the citys leading confectionary for 40 years, starting in 1900s in quarters later used by G C Murphy Co. He later moved to the Fountainette site on the south side. He suffered a stroke in 1951 and later injuries from a Cottage Park accident left him frail. Surviving: wife Ruth Auer Hoenes. daughters Helen Durrell and Virginia Hoenes. sons Cameron and Maxwell. six grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren. one half brother Albert Merker. The body is at Davison Frick Home with service Friday at 2 p.m. Rev Paul Bauer will officiate. interment in Fine Grove Cemetery.
