Auction method to sell poultry eggs gains traction in Pa
Harrisburg reports that egg and poultry auctions have become a permanent part of Pennsylvania farm marketing. Secretary of Agriculture D Wansell French notes more than a million dollars of poultry and egg sales in the first six months, with auctions operating in Doylestown, Centre Point, New Holland, Butler, Coatesville, Harleysville and Bethlehem. The system gathers eggs from many producers, grades them, and sells to the highest bidder, boosting prices and quality education for poultrymen.
