Fred Trantum, 57, of Jamestown, a former Columbus resident, died eight hours after a crash where his car struck a milk truck near Waterford. His wife was seriously injured but improving. Trantum, a salesman, was born in Columbus and had lived in Jamestown for years with relatives in the region.
