Russell Dolen, 21, of Biglersville PA. Thomas A L Buchanan, 19, of Biniza PA. and George Waldman, 18, of Williamsport PA. Three Marines died instantly. Buchanan died en route to Warrenton Hospital.
Washington AP reports Congress faces a special session to consider Eisenhower's demand for authority to set interest rates on government bonds. The House approved raising savings bond rates from 2% to 3% but rejected lifting the 4.5% ceiling on long-term bonds, risking inflation and debt costs. The Senate Finance Committee plans to review the measure.
