Washington Oct 30 United Press reports both major parties estimate the Tuesday vote will be the largest ever with women poised to influence outcomes independently of husbands. Hoover and other groups push turnout nationwide with postcards, district organizing, and targeted tasks for college, industrial, and homemaker voters. Nonpartisan groups urge participation amid concerns over prohibition and the sweeping scope of woman suffrage since 1920.
Ralph Carpenter takes over management of the Quality Cash Store in the Traction building after serving with an A. and P. chain store in Cleveland. At 7:00 last night two men died when their automobile was struck by a westbound New York Central train at Boyer road near the Exposition grounds east of Erie. The victims were Earl H. Archer aged 61 of 1051 Newton Javenue Lawrence Park and Claude J Campaign aged 46 of 10th Smithson Avenue Lawrence Park. Campaign was hurled 150 feet to the roadside and suffered multiple skull fractures. Archer was ground near the impact with body parts strewn along the railroad right of way for about a quarter mile.
Governor Alfred E. Smith returns to New York to press his presidential bid with three key speeches in Newark Brooklyn and Madison Square Garden as the campaign moves to rebuttal. Norman Parkhurst of Elgin was riding a horse when it bolted after a car on the Roosevelt Highway near Warner's Corners. The automobile, driven by Peter Smith of Union City, struck the horse, throwing Parkhurst to pavement and causing a possible brain injury and internal wounds. He was rushed to Corry Hospital and remains seriously hurt under care of Dr. John C. Kibler.

Leon Deston 19 and Elmore Lady 28 seriously injured. doctors fear most may not survive. Witnesses say men were near the holler area seeking relief when the blast occurred. The blast sent bodies 75 yards and caused widespread debris. The incident sparked political, civic commentary in the community. In Springfield Tennessee Dec 30 Sen. Joseph T. Robinson left for Decatur after criticizing Republican prosperity. He will speak in Decatur and East St. Louis tonight.
