Ray E. Gates of Union City and his wife were injured in a head on crash at Erie near Cherry street extension and Peach street. Gates suffered a serious head injury and fractured skull while his wife had bruises and minor injuries. Harold Miler of Erie, the other driver, was held without bail after the collision.

They were trapped under the wreckage and found by Amos Brown, a nearby farmer, about 200 feet east of Brown's farm.
Reports on the streets today say negotiations are under way for a large chain store to take over the north side of the Brown block on North Center street. The block now houses the Lanston store and Paulson barber shop. Mrs. SSB bers resides in HulTrio, and efforts to obtain definite information proved unsuccessful.
A Studebaker roadster driven by Bred Bennett suffered damage after a collision with a truck on Columbus Avenue around 10 80 o'clock Saturday night. The truck, owned by a local hatchery at Union City, struck the car. no one was hurt in the accident.
United Press reports two fatal grade crossing crashes in Pennsylvania and Maryland. In Johnstown area nine miles west Seward overroad No 56 caused six deaths when two cars crashed into a train during a christening celebration at Charles mining village. In Baltimore area a passenger train struck a stalled auto near Harwood killing seven, including two babies in arms.
Rudolph Bachofner who runs a confectionery on East Main Street faces Police Magistrate Porter for disorderly conduct. About a dozen bottles of allegedly homemade beer were seized Saturday night after an officer observed a party with a bottle. Chief Tipton and Patrolman Brown found roughly a dozen bottles. Bachofner to be arraigned at 7:30 this evening under a municipal temperance ordinance.
United Press reports Pittsburgh and western Pennsylvania will see the season’s coldest air tonight. Meteorologist W. G. Brotzman says temperatures will dip several degrees below freezing with clear skies tonight and clouds with rain or snow tomorrow. The official low around Corry is expected near 10 degrees, the season’s coldest.
L W Colegrove retires as rural carrier effective with close of business. Appointed in 1900s to Route No 1 at Corry post office, he served patrons in Concord township with faithful efficient service. Fellow workers and patrons extend congratulations and best wishes for health and prosperity as a substitute carrier handles the route pending a new appointment.

County officials announce non registered electors in boroughs and townships may vote in the upcoming election if meeting residency and tax requirements. A naturalization or county tax receipt may be needed to prove eligibility.
A blast and fire at the Publickzed Commercial Alcohol Company in South Philadelphia killed Frances Sears and Hugh Duffey and injured several others. The blaze destroyed three buildings, damaged by flames and powerful explosions, with losses estimated up to 39 million dollars and 500000 gallons of alcohol. Firefighters faced continued hazards as containers exploded and flames swept through highly flammable materials.
The giant German Graf Zeppelin departed Lakehurst early this morning en route to Friedrichshafen, traveling at 71 to 80 miles per hour. Sightings from New York and Boston traced its Atlantic crossing, with thousands watching as the airship glided above Manhattan and Brooklyn before heading out to sea.
