More than 250 Corryites attended a testimonial dinner at Corry Area High School honoring the 74th year of the Raymond division of Associated Spring Corp. Carlyle F Barnes urged continued business growth. E W Feldt lauded long service. PF Whittlesey’s 75th year drew a standing ovation as pensioned and longtime employees were celebrated.

Three Children Die In Fire At Apollo Pa
A pre-dawn fire swept a two-story frame house in Apollo killing three children aged one to three. Nine others, including five children from another family, were rescued. The dead are Norman Kirkpatrick Jr Gregory and Veronica. The father said flames and smoke blocked escape upstairs. Grandparents, a daughter, and five others survived.

Pilot Sentenced For Bank Theft
An Illinois, 24 year old Jet pilot was given an indeterminate sentence not to exceed 50 years by the state prison for attempting to rob an Abilene bank. Lt Delbert Dunmire formerly of Cloyne Pa and stationed at Schilling Air Force Base near Salvia pleaded guilty to entering a banking institution with intent to rob. Dunmire was arrested 15 minutes after the Commercial Street Bank was robbed of 2461 dollars.
